May You Live In Interesting Times

 The title of this is an ancient Chinese curse allegedly. And I understand why it is considered curse now. The context for that being that Interesting times were times of Chaos and Upheaval with overtones of Disaster. Where everything was being turned on it's head.

And, for a different perspective, my Mother tells me that my Grandmother, her Mother, Leigh, used to say that all the time. And she meant it in a different context. Her context was Grow up and go tackle life. Take it on and Master it.

So there you have it, Interesting Times.

And, for today, I think that we live in Interesting Times in the Chinese Curse context. And let me explain why.

For 60+ years there has been a well financed movement to divide America on every front. Politically, Spiritually, Emotionally, in any way possible. And we are in the resulting time.

We are no longer the American Community or Family. We are a bunch of separate constituencies that look upon other constituencies with Fear. and Hate. All very carefully engineered by those who have very deep pockets who are benefitting from that Divisive Fear and Hate.

As a result we are, today, in real time, watching the final dismembering of our Nation, our Community. And it is all in the name of Profit. Profit for the very few at the expense of the very many.

Meaning, at the expense of you and I.

As a result the United States is no longer a Beacon of Freedom. Which, in truth, it has not been for a while. And, Democratic Governmental Leaders are meeting and the United States is no longer invited or wanted. We have become the best friend, or, in reality, the Useful Idiots, of the Dictator of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

We have a President who is ignoring all of the Checks and Balances on his power, and the Congress seems to have abdicated it's role as a check and balance, in completely ignoring orders from the Courts to Cease and Desist his actions.

He has Broken the Constitution of the United States and is a Traitor to his Oath of Office and the nation.

This is the result of Racial Prejudice from the beginning of our time here in North America, a failure to ever address it as a Community, the Institutional White Privilege throughout our society, again, never addressed, and the Weaponization of that by Talk Radio and Fox "News" with supporting web outlets chiming in.

So, we are in a world of shit as a Nation.

What can we, those who Love our Country as it Can Be, do?

I think, that it begins with those of us who do not like this iteration of our Nation, to take the statement, "May you live in interesting times", and use it in the sense that my Grandmother used it. To "Grow up and go tackle life. Take it on and Master it".

To do that we, as a Community, are going to have to do several things at once.

• Face the Racism that is built into the National DNA
• Face the ways that White Privilege has affected us. White People and People of Color together.
• Start articulating our Vision for the Nation that Involves Being Inclusive, Being of the Entire Community, Having Justice For All, Everyone Having Enough To Live Comfortably, Health Care For All, A Strong Working Class with a Loud Voice, Reason, Science, Education for All as High as ones Natural Talents can take them, etc.
• Be For Things and Do Not Oppose. Notice what you do not like only as a Pivot to be For What you want.
• GET ORGANIZED!!! We need a Lot of People to overcome the Massive amounts of Money that is Organized for the Destruction of our Country.

And all of this has to happen very quickly. For we have no more time. Time has run out. It is Now or Never.

I would like to add, addressing the Democratic Party, until we can break the Two Party Duopoly, You Are The Opposition Party. Grow a Fucking Backbone and Start Opposing.
