Now Is Not The Time

 Lately I have been seeing a whole lot of social media posts, from people I like and respect, talking about how now is the time to be nice to Trump voters. That if we are just nice enough, polite enough, understanding enough, that we can get them to see the complete error of their ways in supporting this idiot.

And I keep thinking, "What F***ing Universe do you live in"?

It has been five decades of getting gaslit by these people and their "sources". AKA Talk Radio and Fox "News".

And, during that whole time we, meaning Liberals like myself, and Democrats, have been playing fair, trying to find common ground, working with them in order to convince them that we are Real Americans and have some good ideas if you would only see.

And the result is this country has been dragged into cuckoo land. And we are almost complete in the process of becoming the Nazi States of America.

As we have been trying to find the "Center" the whole political landscape has been moving further and further Right. And, as a result, the "Center is what used to be the extreme Right and the Left is what used to be Center Right.

And a good part of why that happened is that those on the Left, Liberals, and those in the Center, Democrats, have been gaslighted into believing that they need to play nice, be accommodating, find compromises, be the adults in the room. They have been dragged so far away from their own core values that they do not even know what they stand for any more.

And all the while the ones on the Right have been going further and further in being Nazis and dragging everyone else along with them.

So no, I am NOT going to play nice. I am standing for Core Liberal Values and the hell with those who are having a bit of buyers remorse because they are getting hurt by the very policies they voted for.

What are the core Liberal Values that I believe in? Great question. Here are a few.

• A Living Wage. If a business cannot pay a Living Wage it should not exist.
• Strong Unions to protect workers from rapacious Capitalist owning class
• Socialized Health care for all. No one should be driven to Bankruptcy because they got sick.
• School Breakfast and Lunches for Free to all children. Period.
• No Public Monies for Private Schools under any circumstances. Public Monies for Public Education.
• And Extreme Firewall between Religion and Government on every level
• A Constitutional Amendment stating that Money is not Speech and is not Protected as Speech
• A Constitutional Amendment stating that Corporations are not People and have no Civil Rights
• A Constitutional Amendment stating that All Public Officials on any level of Government are bound by the same laws as any Private Citizen and Office does not convey Immunity or Delay
• All Law Enforcement must be held to a Higher Standard and Limited Immunity MUST be removed
• Universal Guaranteed Basic Income for all based on real cost of living
• Every Vote is Counted and All Voters Count
• Remove all barriers to voting

There is more. And I am sure that you get the idea. I stand for Freedom and Safety for all that extends right up to the point where that Freedom and Safety impacts on others.

And, anyone, and I do mean anyone, who wants to have a civilized discussion about things, I will be there all day long.

I will not, however, move where I stand in this world to meet you halfway or find common ground etc. This is where I stand and stand there I shall.

And if you start giving me Nazi talking points then I will get nasty really quickly. I have no more time to cater to your white fragility. You are a Nazi who supports Nazis. Until you can accept that we have nothing further to talk about.

So all of you on the Left and the Center of the political spectrum I have a few questions for you:

1. What do you really stand for"|?
2. What do you get for compromising those beliefs for "Common Ground"?
3. Are you finally ready to see things as they are instead of the "Common Ground" gaslighting glasses you have been looking thru?
4. Are you ready to really fight for your Freedom and Safety from Nazis?
5. Are you ready to find Common Cause with people whom you may not 100% agree with and yet overall support the same goals that you do?

So there it is. Why I think that this is not, and has not been for a long time, the time to try to find common ground with those on the Right. Even those who are suffering Buyers Remorse.

We have been doing that for way too long now. And all it has gotten us is Donald John Trump and Nazis.

I am done with that.
