A Spiritual Vitamin Pill

I was in a Zoom meeting today. And the speaker was just filled, overflowing with, Gratitude. It was coming out in everything that was there. The Voice, the Words, the Body Language, everything, was just exuding Gratitude. And Joy. So much Joy.

And, while the words were important, and very effective in telling a story of addiction and recovery, it was everything else that conveyed the important message. That  not only is recovery possible, that recovery can be great.

And I needed to remember that today. I have a lot of internal stuff going on and I am wrapped way too tight inside my own head. I could, and do, call it, getting lost in the weeds of life. And I forget how wonderful my life is. Especially in comparison to how it was the day I walked into my first meeting. And later, when I made the choice to stop using and try doing it someone else's way instead of my own.

Along the way I have had many moments. Some Great, some Good, some Meh, some Ugh, and some Terrible. For all of these moments it was entirely dependent on where my Gratitude level was.

During the regular sharing time of the meeting, after the speaker, a person sharing stated that hearing the speaker had been uplifting and like "a spiritual vitamin pill". Thus the title of this piece.

And I got that. Because anything that can uplift ones sprits, especially as powerfully as this person did, is like a shot of vitamins. And does a heck of a lot of good to ones emotional well being as well. At least in my experience.

And what this person did for me that was so powerful was remind me that Wonder and Joy are not only possible, that Wonder and Joy can be a complete Way of Being when I get my rotten attitude out of the way.

That I, My Self, is the only thing blocking me from being in a State of Wonder and Joy.

And that Gratitude is the key to my Wonder and Joy.

So my question for you my Dear Reader is:

  • Where is your Gratitude today?
  • What is blocking you from Being in a State of Wonder and Joy?
  • Are you Willing to Be Grateful today?
  • Are you Willing to let another's experience Uplift You?
I hope that you can Be Grateful today. Some days I need to be reminded to be Grateful. And I am Grateful that I have people around me that will remind of that.

Like the speaker today.

May Joy and Gratitude fill your days from here on out.

Namaste
