Adapt and Thrive?

 Or Resist and Die?

I was just recently on a webinar where the person speaking was talking about the new world that we are in. Where How we make an income is changing.

And she said, "There are two types of people in times like this. Those who adapt and thrive, and those who resist and die".

Unfortunately, I am not sure if that is the exact wording. I came and wrote it down while the webinar was still going on. And my memory got fuddled in the 15 seconds it took for me to open this up and write it.

The presenter on this webinar was talking about the business world. I, rather automatically, shifted this out into the entire realm of life. Life as it is today.

And here in the United States we are watching this go on in real time. We are seeing a Massive Reaction, Socially, Politically, Business, Religious, to a shift that is happening in this country. A large part of the population does not understand this shift, is scared of this shift, and is violently resisting this shift.

What I see is the country is becoming much more Multi Cultural, Religiously Diverse, Ethnically Diverse, Politically Open to new ideas, and Technology is changing the way we work and relate to the world around us. And all this while the Western European "White" population is diminishing.

And there is a very loud and unified part of that Western European "White" population that is afraid of this. Very afraid.

And there are some very powerful and very rich White people who are financing that Fear and amplifying the voice of these people through any and all possible means.

So we now have three different countries.

We have the part that I am in, Open and Inclusive. Welcoming to the Multi Cultural Aspects of it. Championing the Ethnical Diversity that is happening. Open to any Diversity that is happening. I truly believe that our Diversity is our Strength. Embracing Technology and very wary of the Mis-Use of Technology by those in Power and in Opposition to Diversity.

We have another part that has pretty  much withdrawn from Public Discourse. I think that they have checked out because they are convinced that they cannot take sides. And are afraid to take a side which then might lose. So that by keeping their heads down all of this will pass over them and they will be all right. And I believe that they are the largest of the three segments. The statistic that represents them is this, the Largest Block of Eligible Voters in this country are the people who Do Not Vote.

And then we have the part that is the Fearful Reactionary part. They will not admit, even to themselves, that they are afraid. They cannot. They think of themselves as "Real Patriots" and those who "Truly Understand", and "American Warriors for the Cause of Freedom". And everything that they are doing is a Fearful Reaction to a world that is shifting under their feet in ways that they do not understand and which they fear.

And manipulating it all we have another segment, the Massively Rich White Male tiny minority, that has accumulated massive amounts of Wealth and Power and have only one ideology, POWER and CONTROL, that is using the Reactionaries in order to gain more control.

And we are being torn apart. The Rich White people have managed to get their Massively Reactionary Party, the Republican Party, or what it really is, the Nazi Party, elected and Appointed to be in control of every branch of the Government.

We are now past the tipping point. We are becoming the Nazi States of America. We have not completed the transition yet. And we are close.

It is going to take those of us who Adapt and Thrive, who are Welcoming to a Diverse and Open Future, to keep this from completing and reverse it. And become the United states of America that is not afraid to face it's Past, not angry at it's Present, and not fearful of it's Future.

And the people we really need to talk to are the middle group, the ones who keep their heads down and hope that all this will go away. The ones who Do Not Vote. They are still, I believe, open to Possibility. We just have to show them those Possibilities in a way that will resonate.

We also need to stop talking about what we are Against. We need to be talking about what we are For. I am For and Open and Diverse Future. I am For enough for All. I am For an even Playing field where a person can Rise as far as their own Talent and Abilities will take them. I am For Free and Open Elections where everyone uses a Paper Ballot and they are Hand Counted by People. I am For The People.

The ones we do not need to talk to are the Reactionaries. They are locked in. It would be, and truly is for I have tried, a waste of time to try to get them to see these Possibilities. For over 40 years now they have been taught, thru the media they consume, Right Wing Talk Radio, Fox "News", and an increasing variety of websites like The Drudge Report, and various Social Media sites, to Be Afraid of those Possibilities. And they Cheer the Destruction of Free and Open Democratic Government because they are told that will Protect them from the forces that they have been taught to Fear.

So my Dear Readers, a few questions:

• Are you Open to the Possibility of an Open and Diverse World?
• Are you For an Open and Diverse Society of Equals?
• Are you for a Society that cares for it's least with Compassion?
• Are you For Free and Open Elections?
• Are you For the People?

If you are able to answer Yes to any of this then we have work to do. A lot of work to do. And a very short time to do it. If we are to save our Nation from the Reactionary Forces that are Destroying it then we must be busy NOW.

As President Obama has talked about more than once, it is the Fierce Urgency of Now. There is no longer a Later possible. We either get this done now, or we never will. The Opportunity and Possibility will have passed us by.

And I, for one, find that idea totally Un-Acceptable.
