Nuremburg Trials

 In November of 1945, with a big part of Europe in ruins as a result of World War Two, the Allied Powers, France, The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Soviet Union, and the United States of America, convened a "Special International Court" in Nuremberg Germany. They chose this location as it had been the location of many of the largest Nazi rallies during the early Nazi regime.

And they really wanted to make clear, thru this symbolism and other things, that the Third Reich was DEAD and gone.

In the subsequent trials they tried the people who were still alive who had been leaders of the Nazi machine and many of the functionaries who carried out the orders of those leaders.

In the initial trial the defendants were 24 Nazi leaders who were indicted on charges of Crimes Against Peace, Crimes Against Humanity, War Crimes, and Conspiracy to Commit these crimes. Of those initial trials 21of 24 defendants were convicted.

In subsequent trials more were convicted and a few were not. In all there were 199 defendants tried and 161 convicted. Of those convicted 37 were sentenced to death by hanging.

In my opinion the Justice system worked.

In those trials the point was hammered home that if a leader does not carry out the action that they have suggested or ordered they are still responsible for that act as if they did carry out that order personally. And that those who carry out the orders, who are "just following orders", are just as liable for their actions as they would be if they had conceived the act by themselves.

While there were Military Elements in this effort it was largely Civilian led. As an example, the United States Prosecutor in the German Tribunal was Supreme Court Justice Robert H. Jackson. He took a leave of absence from the Supreme Court in order to do the job.

In Japan similar trials were held. Unlike the trials in Germany which had a mostly civilian make up and and were very judicial the Japanese ones were much more Military Tribunals and a very United States led and carried out. And, while they were very strictly run along rules of evidence and jurisprudence they were still Military as compared to Civilian run.

It did have, however, a very heavy civilian representation. The American Chief Prosecutor was Joseph B. Keenan former United States Assistant Attorney General. There was no British, French, Soviet, or other Nationality Prosecutors working with him. This was a solely United States effort.

This also helped to establish Legal Precedents for Individual Responsibilities for International Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity.

The thing that these Tribunals established more than anything is the The Rule of Law must be paramount.

And, of course, Governments ignore this whenever they feel it is necessary and/or needed.

And they have consistently since ignored these precedents, when considered by those Governments, to be necessary.

And now in the present day. Our United States Government. So many examples to choose from.

• The invasion of Grenada on completely spurious grounds in October of 1983.
• The invasion of Panama in December 1989.
• The invasion of Afghanistan in October 2001.
• The invasion of Iraq in March 2003 on completely made up charges.
• The Military killing of Osama Bin Laden in May 2011.
• The Imposition of Tariffs outside of the scope of Office since the Orange Felons Inauguration.
• ICE as a Terrorist and Extra Judicial organization starting just after the Orange Felons Inauguration in January 2025.
• The Military killing of unknown civilians off the coast of South America beginning in September 2025.
• The Illegal War with Iran on totally made up Reasons.

There are so many more that I could go into. And I think you get the idea. When a Government considers it inconvenient then the Rule of Law is ignored completely. I know that every example that I have given some of you are going to say that it was justified. And my point is that either we are a Nation of Laws or we are just a Dictatorship in Disguise.

So why am I writing about this? Just a day or so ago I drove my Mother to the county executive committee meeting for the political party that she identifies with and which she is a dues paying member of.

And while there a candidate for the local Congressional District was circulating in the pre meeting schmoozing. I got a chance to speak with them for a few minutes. That was fun. Seems like a nice person. Later in the meeting they gave a little this is who I am and this is what I stand for speech. Then took a few questions and gave answers before the chair person said it was time to move on to the next item on the agenda.

One of the things that they talked about was to Impeach, Remove, Convict. As if getting rid of Donald Trump will fix everything and then we can just go back to "normal". That is not how this is going to work. In order to save the best of what this nation is we need to expose and root out the worst of what this nation is.

That means we have to face the Real History of these United States. The Bigotry. The Hatred. The Brutality. The Ethnic Cleansing and Genocide. And the Systemic ways that these have been perpetuated from the very beginning.

If we have Mid Term elections, and I am not going to place money on either side of that equation at this point, and the Democrats get a Majority in either house, then they Must open Public Hearings into the breaking of the Law, both U.S. and International, immediately. They must have them daily and bring the receipts. And it must go after any and all persons and institutions that did this or actively promoted it. No matter position or party.

And then, if the Democrats win the Presidential, and get or maintain control of both houses of Congress in the 2028 elections, they need to impeach, remove, and convict Supreme Court Justices, Senators, Congress People, and all others within the Government who aided and abetted this administration. And we must also go after the Media who mis used their positions to promote these ideas and behaviors which was basically a 40+ year call to violence and destruction under the guise of free speech. And finally, go after the Multi Billionaires and other people who have financed the creation of the Nazi Oligarchy for the last 60+ years.

And we must do this openly within the Rule of Law. Using Nuremburg Courts as a model.

Because these people have come within an inch of completing a plan laid out in 1972in The Powell Memo (Google it). Doing what the Romans did when going from "Republic" to Empire. Destroying the Reality of what little Democracy is left while leaving the completely ineffective forms of democracy in place.

Thus creating the Nazi Oligarchic State.

We are, my friends, about an inch away from this reality. This is all very easily verifiable. All you need to do is look with clear eyes and you can see.
